Mr. Delmer Henson Roark, age 88, of Warrensville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 18, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller-Roland Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Friday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Roark was born in Ashe County on Saturday, August 19, 1922 to the late Roby and Jesse Campbell Roark. He was a mechanic at New River Tractor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Inamae Elliott Roark; a son, Arvil Roark. He is survived by three sons, Archie Roark and wife, Blanche, of Todd, Mike Roark and wife, Donna, of Warrensville and Danny Roark and wife, Norma, of Warrensville; two daughters, Gloria Gallaher, of Warrensville and Barbara Walters and husband, Jim, of Warrensville; a brother, Robert Roark, of Gainesville, FL; a sister, Maidean Moore, of Gainesville, FL; a daughter-in-law, Jane Roark, of Warrensville; two special caregivers, Debbie Combs, of Jefferson and Wilma Maye, of West Jefferson; seven grandchildren, Amy Bennett, of Kernersville, Melissa Harmon, of Warrensville, Kevin Roark, of Todd, Tim Walters, of Fleetwood, Amanda Farmer, of Lansing, Crystal Edmisten, of Fleetwood and Ashley Roark, of Warrensville; six great-grandchildren Makayla Bennett, Kallie Bennett, Tyler Harmon, Lydia Edmisten, Niko Jannetta and Skylar Jannetta; several nieces and nephews also survive.
