Mrs. Julia Torrence Oliver Rash, age 90, of Todd, passed away Tuesday evening, November 11, 2008 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 1pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rhonda Rash and Rev. Bluferd Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow in the Rash Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Rash was born in Ashe County on Friday, January 11, 1918 to the late Sherman Oliver and Donia Lewis Oliver. She was a Homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Vernie Rash on November 28, 2003. She is survived by five sons, Gene Rash and wife, Betty, of Lansing, Jack Rash and wife, Dawna, of Clemmons, NC, Lewis Rash of West Jefferson, Herb Rash and wife, Barb, of West Jefferson and Tony Rash of Todd; four daughters, Irene Loggins of Piney Creek, NC, Maxine Farrington and husband, Clyde of Creston, Sue Rash and husband Jim, of West Jefferson and Glenda Rash of West Jefferson; a sister, Mattie Lewis of West Jefferson; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
