Obituary of Elmer Farmer

Mr. Elmer Farmer, Jr. better known as "Junior" age 67, of Creston, passed away Monday morning, February 28, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 am at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Hart & Rev. William Greer officiating. Burial will follow in the Farmer Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Farmer was born in Washington County, Virginia on Sunday, February 20, 1944 to the late Elmer D. Farmer, Sr. and Dora Bell Pennington Farmer. He loved to fish in his spare time. When not fishing, he would sit on the Liar's Bench at the Creston Superette and tell about his fishing tails and chew his tobacco. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin Farmer and Ned Farmer. He is survived by three brothers, Bill Farmer and wife, Jane, of Creston, Paul Farmer and wife, Barbara, of West Jefferson and Charlie Farmer and wife, Mary, of Warrensville; two sisters, Gerry Gibson and husband, Charles, of Jacksonville, Florida and Pearl Johnson and husband, Bob, of Creston; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be appreciated. The family will be meeting at the home of Bob and Pearl Johnson at 2798 Ed Little Road in Creston.
