Mr. Chester James Osborne, age 80, of Creston, the Rock Creek Community, passed away Saturday night, March 5, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:00am at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Roark, Rev. Rector Henson, Rev. Wayne Roark and Rev. Charlie McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Price-Roark Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Rock Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Osborne was born in Ashe County on May 5, 1930 to the late Alvin and Callie Osborne. After working 31 years, he retired from Jefferson Wood Products. He loved to work in his garden and raised beautiful strawberries. He had a green thumb. He loved to deer hunt, with his bow and muzzle loader. He is survived by his wife, Esther McCoy Osborne; a son, Ricky Osborne and wife, Betty, of Wilkesboro; two daughters, Pamela Roark and husband, Rickey, of Creston and Margaret Wood and husband, Marshall, of Rising Sun, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Jamie Osborne and wife, Kim, of Crumpler, Joey Osborne and wife, Christie, of Wilkesboro, Tracy Carter, of Wilkesboro, Rikki Osborne, of Wilkesboro, Brandon Roark, of Creston, Daniel Roark, of Creston, Jessica Roark, of Creston and Monica Roark, of Creston; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted!
