Mrs. Sarah Louise Taylor Medley, age 77, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday night, March 12, 2011 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 2:00pm at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Steve LeaShomb and Rev. Ervil Jones officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00pm on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Medley was born in Ashe County on Saturday, December 23, 1933 to the late James and Florie Stanley Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pete Medley on March 27, 2006. She is survived by two sons, Michael Medley and wife, Marty, of West Jefferson and Tommy Medley, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Judy Viers and husband, Steve, of West Jefferson; two brothers, J.D. Taylor, of Hudson and Wayne Taylor, of West Jefferson; a sister, Yvonne Burt, of Mooresville; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Steve and Judy Viers, 241 Arthur G. Caudill Road in West Jefferson.
