James Franklin "Jim" Baldwin, age 72 of Lansing, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Margate Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Francis and Rev. Dwight Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Hill Cemetery in Lansing. The Baldwin family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Baldwin was born Thursday, January 5, 1939 in Ashe County to Gaither and Maggie Stike Baldwin. He was married to the late Bertha Blevins Baldwin. Jim worked as a custodian with the Ashe County School System. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Holman; two brothers, Grant and Kenneth Baldwin. He is survived by three sisters; Reba Smith of Bluff City, TN, Montalean Dishner, of Bristol, TN and Daphner Musick, of High Point, NC, a niece Jennifer Blevins, of Lansing as well as several other nieces and nephews.
