Mr. John Carson Vineyard, age 78, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, November 16, 2008 at Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11:00 am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Day and Rev. Tommy Dollar officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, November 18, 2008 from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Mr. Vineyard was born in Lexington, South Carolina on March 8, 1930 to the late Dick and Stella Dollar Vineyard. He was the owner of J & J Mobile Home Sales. He is survived by a son, Lowell Vineyard and wife, Pat, of Winston Salem; a sister, Shelby Elliott of West Jefferson; a granddaughter, Stephanie Vaughn and husband Dion, of Huntersville; a great-grandson, Dillon Vaughn; several nieces & nephews also survive Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to: Ashe County Cancer Fund, c/o Renea Adams, 372 Oscar Day Road, Jefferson, NC 28640.
