Mrs. Gaye Elliott Eldreth Goss, age 83, of Lansing, the Deep Ford Community, passed away Monday morning, March 28, 2011 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Goss was born in Ashe County on Friday, November 25, 1927 to the late Orin and Callie Melissa Landreth Elliott. She worked in assembly making motors for washing machines. Gaye had a loved for crafts, making flowers arrangements and making doll clothes. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Vernie Earl Eldreth and Gwyn Landon Goss; two sisters, Mae Eldreth and Mabel McNeill. Mrs. Goss is survived by a daughter, Ruby Hamond, of Hickory; a sister, Faye Eldreth, of Elkton, Maryland; two grandchildren, Timothy Tobin and Debra Segraves; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Segraves , Christopher Segraves, Jennifer Tobin and Natalie Allen; a great, great grandson, Teagan Wise; several nieces and nephews also survive.
