Mrs. Lucy Virginia Crepps Viers, age 84, of Laurel Springs passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 19, 2011 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital. A memorial services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clayton Handy officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am on Friday, one hour prior to the memorial service. Mrs. Viers was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, March 9, 1927 to the late John Merit and Beatrice Dancy Crepps. She was a Cook at the Bluff Lodge and Restaurant for over 15 years. Mrs. Viers is survived by three sons, William (Bill) Kimberlin, and wife, Becky, of Kannapolis, NC, James (Jim) Kimberlin, and wife, Margie, of Harrisburg, NC and Mitchell Kimberlin and wife, Sharon, of Glade Valley; two daughters, Patricia (Patty) Absher and husband, Roy, of Laurel Springs and Sheila Barnes and husband, Derek, of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, Ernest Crepps, of Glendale Springs; two sisters, Nell Walters, of West Jefferson and Edith of Maryland; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
