Mrs. Edith Pauline Morrison Childress, age 81, of Crumpler, formerly of Wilkes County passed away Tuesday morning, May 3, 2011 at Watauga Medical Center. She was born in Wilkes County on August 3, 1929 to the late C.P. and Rosa Crysel Morrison. She retired from Ithaca Industries .When Edith was younger, she loved to go on the wagon trains. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing. Mrs. Childress is survived by three sons, Bob Childress and wife, Patricia, of North Wilkesboro, Kim Childress and wife Elyane, of Missouri and Keith Childress and wife, Janet, of Wilkesboro; a daughter, Gail Sands and husband, Haskel (Tom), of Mooresville, NC; two sisters, Reba Morrison, of Crumpler and Mary Nell Covington, of Winston-Salem, NC; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
