Danny Ray Campbell, age 46, of Lansing, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at his home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Boone Family Funeral Home with Speaker Luke Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackburn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:00P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the Boone Family Funeral Home, prior to the funeral. Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Kim Gentry Campbell of Lansing; two step-sons, Matthew Peterson of Hickory, Luke Peterson of Raleigh; a daughter, Kayla Phillips and husband Doug of Todd; his father, Delbert Ray Campbell of Lansing; two grandchildren, Cyrus Campbell Phillips of Todd, Alexandria Faw of Todd. Danny was born in Ashe County, on January 29, 1965 to the late Annie Grace Dowell and Delbert Ray Campbell. He attended Ashe Central High School. He played Bluegrass guitar with close friend Brian Hicks in the band "Bluegrass 1101". He played locally for the Christmas in July festival, The Ashe County Fiddlers Convention and other events. Danny was a delivery driver for O'Reilly Auto Parts in West Jefferson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the High Country Healthcare Hospice, P.O. Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28694 or to the Blackburn Cemetery, in care of Shirley Noah, 444 North Fork New River Road, Lansing, NC 28643.
