Mr. Shirley Ford Grogan, age 78, of Fleetwood died Friday, May 13, 2011 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Beaver Creek Christian Church with Rev. Jim Dawes officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery with military rights. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Prior to the funeral at Beaver Creek Christian Church. Shirley Grogan was born in Ashe county on March 12, 1933 to the late Raymond and Beatrice Worley Grogan. Mr. Grogan is survived by one son, Brian Grogan and wife April of Wilmington formerly of Ashe County;a daughter Janet Grogan of Fleetwood;two brothers, Arvil Grogan and wife Bertha of West Jefferson, Glenn Grogan and wife Ella Sue of West Jefferson; Sister Arleigh Joines of West Jefferson; a grandson, Tanner; a step-granddaughter, Taylor; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Shirley is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean Winebarger Grogan; a brother, Garland Grogan; a sister, Bobbie Greer, a son, Ricky Allen Grogan.
