Mrs. Effie Grace Little Tucker, better known as "Grace" age 86, of Crumpler passed away Monday night, June 6, 2011 at Wilkes Senior Village. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:30-3:00pm, prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Tucker was born in Ashe County on Monday, June 30, 1924 to the late Benjamin Franklin and Effie Grace Watson Little. She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed cooking and taking basket weaving classes. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Tucker. Mrs. Tucker is survived by two sons, William Howard (Bill) Tucker, Jr. and wife, Joyce Blackburn, of Rural Hall, NC and John Warner Tucker and wife, Patty, of Newton; three daughters, Doris Tucker Evans and husband, Bobby, of Wilson, NC, Patricia Tucker Stout and husband, Boyd, of Millers Creek and Bonnie Tucker Peters, of Crumpler; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the home place 786 Roy Goodman Road in Crumpler.
