Mrs. Maude Severt Dillard, age 97, of Jefferson passed away Wednesday morning, July 6, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 8, 2011 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Carter and Elder James McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in the Orion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Dillard was born in Ashe County on Saturday, August 23, 1913 to the late Tom and Lou Dillard Severt. She was a member of Roans Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and well known for her good cooking. She loved her animals especially her dog, Cassie and her cat, Patty Cat. She was a loving wife and mother, and will be missed by all. She is survived by two daughters, Sally Dillard and Brenda Dillard, both of Jefferson; a brother, Claude Severt, of Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
