Ms. Norma Joy Nelia Francis, better known as "Neelie" age 62, of Jefferson passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Glenbridge Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00am at Green's Chapel Church with Rev. Lonnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the homeplace at 141 Hidden Rock Lane in Jefferson. Ms. Francis was born in Ashe County on Sunday, February 20, 1949 to the late Clarence and Ruby Barker Francis. She was a sewing machine operator in a textile plant. In her spare time she loved to sew, watch old movies and read her Bible. She is survived by three brothers, Bob Francis and wife, Anita, of Jefferson; Lee Francis, of Scottsville and Don Francis and wife Courtney, of Glendale Springs; a sister, Evangeline Davis and husband, Larry, of Laurel Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.
