Byrl Poe Welch, age 92 of Lansing passed away Monday evening, July 11, 2011 at her son Steve's home in North Wilkesboro, where she had been staying for the last 18 months. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at 2:00pm at Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her husband, John William Welch; her parents, Winfield & Lelar Davis Poe; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Renee Welch; a sister Myrle Banning; two brothers, Quincy Poe and Roy (Smith) Poe. Mrs. Welch is survived by one son, John Stephen Welch and wife, Janette, of North Wilkesboro; One brother, Fred Poe, of Kennett Square, PA; two grandchildren, Tammy Renae Welch, of Lansing and Sean Ethan Welch and wife, Teresa, of Cumming, GA; two great granddaughters, Michelle Athena Hicks and husband, Jason, of Cove, AR, Dusty Janae Lange, of Lansing, NC and a great grandson (expected anytime), Ian Welch of Cumming, GA; two great, great grandsons, Gage Wyatt Gorden and Devin Tyler Gorden; a great-great granddaughter, Hannah Pressley Hicks; two step great great granddaughters; Sloan and Kaylyn Hicks, both of Cove, AR; several nieces & nephews also survive.
