Mrs. Grace Elliott Hamm, age 78 of Lansing passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011 afternoon at Ashe Assisted Living & Memory Care in West Jefferson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Dollar & Rev. Carlton Houck officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The Hamm family will receive friends Monday, August 8, 2011 evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Hamm was born in Ashe County on December 18, 1932 to the late Roy and Julie Graybeal Elliott. Mrs. Hamm is survived by a son, Jimmy Hamm and wife Jean of Lansing; a brother, Raymond Elliott of Creston; four sisters, Bonnie Greer of Independence , VA, Lois Shepherd of Warrensville, Josephine Sapp of Creston, Mary Houck of Creston; two grandchildren, Sabrina Phillips and husband Paul Jr. of Warrensville, Brian Hamm and wife Amanda of Lansing; three great-grandchildren, Paul Phillips III, Farren Phillips, Karlee Hamm; several nieces; and nephews also survive. Grace was a member of Rich Hill Baptist Church. She loved growing flowers, sewing, quilting, shopping, visiting family, and family outings The family will be meeting at the home of her son at 2795 East Little Horse Creek Road, Lansing, NC The family respectfully requests no food please, Flowers will be accepted.
