Obituary of James "Jimmy" Eddleman Dishman

Mr. James Eddleman Dishman, better known as "Jimmy" age 69, of Glendale Springs passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 17, 2011 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 1:00pm at Glendale Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Mr. Dishman was born in Mecklenburg County on Friday, July 10, 1942 to the late Harrsion Eddleman and Margaret Head Dishman. He served 6 years in the National Guard Reserves. He retired as an electrician at Duke Energy McGuire Nuclear Station. He was a member of Glendale Springs Missionary Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school. Jimmy love to garden and he was a jack of all trades. He was also an avid reader. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Miller Dishman, of 47 years of marriage; two sons, Jimmy Dishman, of Mooresville and Roger Dishman and wife, Lisa, of Gastonia; a daughter, Sandra Walker and husband, Tracy, of Lincolnton, NC; two brothers, Charlie Dishman and wife, Colleen, of Mooresville and Mack Dishman and wife, Rachel, of Statesville; a sister, Brenda Roberts and husband, Jerry, of Mooresville; five grandchildren Troy Dishman and Aaron Dishman both of Stanley, Adam Watts and Jacob Watts, both of Lincolnton and Jeffrey Dishman, of Concord; his dog, Sammi; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted.
