Mrs. Lonie Luerana Mahala, age 91, of Hudson, formerly of Creston passed away Thursday August 25, 2011 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, NC. Funeral services will be held on Sunday August 28, 2011 at 7:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Roark and Rev. Anthony Roark officiating. Graveside services Monday August 29, 2011 at 11:00am at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00pm on Sunday August 28, 2011 one hour prior at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Mahala was born in Ashe County on Thursday, May 13, 1920 to the late Henry Price and Jennie Mahala. She was a very hard worker, wonderful mother, and grandmother to her grandkids. She is survived by her son, Raymond Mahala and wife Sarah of Mountain City, TN; two daughters, Ellen Bright and husband Paul of Hudson, NC, and Cassie Greer of Mountain City, TN; two brothers, Dewey Mahala of Creston, NC and Shelton Mahala of Mountain City, TN; five grandsons, two granddaughters, five great-granddaughters, four great- grandsons, one great-great granddaughter, and one great-great grandson; also several nieces and nephews.
