Mr. Homer Lindell Weaver, age 81, of Jefferson died Thursday night, September 29, 2011 at Segraves Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lindsay McGrady and Bro. Avery Roark officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rights. The family will receive friends at 1:00-2:00pm on Monday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Weaver was born in Ashe County on Monday, September 22, 1930 to the late Everette and Bessie Farmer Weaver. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He lived for a long while in Delaware where he worked and retired from General Motors. Before returning to Ashe County he was an active member and head usher at Truth & Life Center in North East, Maryland. He was a dedicated supporter of numerous Christian ministries and missions. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline Prillaman, Vester Graybeal and Lucille Campbell. Mr. Weaver is survived by two brothers, Mark Weaver and wife, Ilene, of Landenberg, PA and Conley Weaver and wife, Louella, of Mountain City, TN; two sisters, Winnie Jean Greer, of Jefferson and Jewel Weaver, of Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
