Mrs. Mildred Darnell Bowlin, age 67, of Laurel Springs, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 morning at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Pruitt and Rev. Ed Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Peak Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 6:00- 8:00pm at the Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowlin was born in Ashe County on July 13, 1944 to the late Ardle and Cordie Woodie Darnell. She is survived by her husband, George Bowlin, of Laurel Springs; a son, D.J. Bowlin and wife, Kristi, of Laurel Springs; three sisters, Joyce Pruitt and husband, Jerry, of Laurel Springs, Peggy Hart and husband, Paul, of Laurel Springs and Linda Barker and husband, Junior, of Jefferson; five brothers, Bill Darnell and wife, Barbara, of Wilkesboro, Gary Darnell and wife, June, of Wilkesboro, Rocky Darnell and wife, Pat, of Wilkesboro, Roger Darnell and wife, Carolyn, of Wilkesboro, J.D.
