Mrs. Ruth Lillian Richardson Jones, age 86, of Warrensville passed away Saturday morning, December 6, 2008 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 11:00am at Clifton Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Tester and Rev. Chuck Call officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Jones was born in Ashe County on February 1, 1922 to the late Lillard Richardson and Nellie Woods Richardson. She retired from Sprague Electric, where she worked as an Inspector. She was married for sixty-seven years to Grant James Jones. She was a member of Clifton Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jones Nathan Richardson. She is survived by her husband, Grant James Jones, of the home; a son, Teddy V. Jones and wife, Hester, of Conover; two brothers, Marvin Richardson of Newton and James Richardson and wife, Danish, of Lansing; a sister, Mary H. Blackwood of Conover; several nieces and nephews also survive.
