Mrs. Elizabeth Weaver Wyrick, age 82, of West Jefferson passed away Monday morning, December 12, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday at Smethport United Methodist Church at 3pm with Rev. Greg Plott and Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Smethport United Methodist Church from 1:30-3:00PM. Mrs. Wyrick was born December 17, 1928 to the late David W. and Gwyn Koontz Weaver of the Smethport community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William J. Wyrick, and three sisters, Maxine W. Wyrick, Faye W. Long and Geneva W. Vannoy all of West Jefferson. She was a hairstylist for many years with a shop in her home in West Jefferson. She enjoyed quilting and made many hand-stitched quilts over the years. She was very gifted at all needle work and also made many beautiful croqueted and knitted items. She loved music and sang in the choir all her life at Smethport United Methodist Church where she was a member. She is survived by two sisters; Alice W. Bare and Wanda W. Bare and husband Paul of West Jefferson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the many caregivers especially, Lynn Greer, Eloise Pierce, Ashley Osborne, Hospice volunteer, Angie Taylor, Ashe Assisted Living, and Hospice of Ashe for the wonderful care that was given over the many years of her illness.
