Mrs. Shelby Jean Roark McNeill, age 59, of West Jefferson died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at her home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 12:00 A.M. at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Sheets, Rev. Jim Powers, Rev. Sonny Younts officiating. Burial will follow in the McNeil family cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 A.M. prior to the funeral at Boone Family Funeral Home Shelby Jean Roark McNeill was born in Ashe County on September 25, 1952 to the late Roger and Jacqueline "Jackie" Miller Roark. Mrs. McNeill is survived by her husband, Dale McNeill of West Jefferson; her mother, Jacqueline "Jackie" Roark of Jefferson; three brothers, Jerry Allen Roark and wife Judy of Jefferson, Gary Wayne Roark and wife Dianne of Jefferson, Barry Roger Roark of Jefferson; three sisters, Shirley Roark Powers and husband Jim of Lansing, Sharon Roark Craighill and husband Laird of Davidson, Shelia Roark Parsons and husband Tim of Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews.
