Mrs. Cecile Davis Brooks, age 93, of Lansing, the Silas Creek Community, passed away Wednesday evening, December 10, 2008 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Testerman and Rev. Charlie McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Brooks was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, August 31, 1915 to the late Warner Davis and Mary Ham Davis. She was a Homemaker. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert (Bobby) Brooks; a brother, Walter Davis and a sister, Inez Blackburn. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Linda Brooks of Jefferson; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the donor's choice
