Mr. Keith Smith Blevins, 73, of West Jefferson passed away Friday afternoon, January 27, 2012 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 7:30pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.D. Walton and Rev. Ken Morris officiating with military rites. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Blevins was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, July 6, 1938 to the late Fredrick and Helen Watson Blevins. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue "Susie" Blevins; a son, Freddie Blevins and wife Dana of Wilkesboro; one daughter, Melissa Neaves and husband David, of West Jefferson; two brothers, Zane Blevins of VA, and Ivan Blevins of Winston Salem; three sisters Sharon Gambill, of West Jefferson, Mannon Eldreth, of West Jefferson, and Marlette Cullen, of West Jefferson; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
