Eddie was my dear brother and even though I have been away from North Carolina for many years, I will miss him dearly. He was always there for me when I needed him and for everyone else too!
For some reason (strange) I recently was remembering when he played football at Lansing High School. He played tight end for most of his career, but in the final game, they put him in as fullback. He was incredible in that position. I remember him breaking through the opponents' line for huge gains. It was very exciting. Since he loved sports so much I think he may appreciate that I remember this. Rest in peace, my dear brother.

To Ed’s family and many friends, as you all know Ed was a very special person. He was the Rock of the family. To me he was a terrific brother-in-law and friend for more than 50 years. I always enjoyed his insights on business, sports (including trout fishing), the Shiners, Indian lore and artifacts, stone cutting and jewelry making, and his deep religious beliefs. I found his work with the Gideons and his sermons as a fill-in for pastors inspiring. The Lord has called Ed home. I’m sure He has good work for him there. Ed, you will be greatly missed by us all.
