I was so sorry to hear about the loss of Judi. I grew up in Jefferson (daughter of Allen & Ethel Blevins and “kid sister� of Lanney) and knew Judi and your family as Jefferson is such a small community. Because of our age difference (Judi was 4 years ahead of me in school), I did not get to know her as well as I would have liked. From my distance when growing up, I always thought Judi was such a beautiful and sweet girl. We all wanted to be like her! I saw Judi once as an adult when my travels took me to DC area, and she was a most beautiful, nice, gracious and accomplished woman. We are so sorry to hear about Judi. I know this is hard for you and your family. May God bless you and keep you from pain and sorrow. Try and think about all she is seeing with her eyes now. Can you imagine the beauty she is seeing and the saints she is sitting with today. She is telling Jesus how much she loved each and every one of you and how precious her life has been. She is thanking him for all the many blessings he gave her while she was with you. She was such a blessed woman to have such a wonderful family who loved her so much. She had a good life filled with so many accomplishments that made all of you so proud. There is nothing now like the TRUE blessings she is receiving today as she sits with God and learns all those things you can not learn in school. She now understands why she had to be sick and why she had to leave you. She sees the big picture we can not see and she is so very happy to be in Heaven today and she does not want anyone to be sad for her. She wants you to know that she is perfect and well!! She loves you and knows that she will be with you again one day. Let God comfort you today as only he can do. I was shocked to see Judi's photo and obit in the Falls Church, VA News Press last week.
I taught with Judi in the early 70s at Braddock Elementary School in Annandale, VA.
The first day of school, when we met for the first time, I introduced myself, and she introduced herself as "I'm Miss Judith Bower of North Carolina". I thought to myself, she must have been a Miss America. She was lovely enough.

This is such sad news to read. In my mind's eye, I see the two of you eating Friday night dinner at Anthony's, with only eyes for one another. You were so sweet, and such an affirmation of a solid marriage for all to see. To have worked with Judi for those few years was a blessing for me and her coworkers. May you find some comfort in your memories and lives well lived.
