It was my honor to work with Bart for many years at the Ashe Campus. The long evening hours were made special by our conversations about politics, computers, and so many other topics. His retirement left a void at the campus that was never filled. My deepest sympathies to Bart's family; I will always cherish my memories of him.

Dear Aunt Patsy, Jamie, and McKenna, We are so sorry for your loss. My earliest memories of Bart are in Converse, IN when you came to visit. He was such an intelligent man - he was quiet yet held the largest presence in the room. He indulged my questions and young child inquisitiveness with grace and humor. He was never too busy nor too important to talk openly and honestly with me - at whatever age level I was at. When Bart was speaking with you, you knew he was always in the moment with you. As I've grown older and more distracted, I value the gift he had for that even more. My love for you all goes beyond required family ties, but is a more involved and unconditional type of good and life long friends. I know you are all hurting and in pain, but I send you Universal healing love and light. Bart is always with us, grinning and patiently waiting to have the next conversation with us!
All our love, Deb, Ree & Liam

Patsy, my heart just aches for your loss. I met Bart the same day I met lighting bugs and have always associated the two. What a magical and humble man he was.
Know that we are thinking of you and sending love and hugs.
