Mr. Joseph Blaine Miller better known as "Blaine", age 67, of West Jefferson died Tuesday afternoon, March 3, 2012 at his residence. Memorial service will be held Friday March 16, 2012 at 2:00PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Osborne officiating. Mr. Miller was born in Ashe County on Friday, July 21, 1944 to the late Ambrose Franklin Miller and Ola Greer. He was a truck driver for several trucking companies in Ashe County. His CB name was "Sign Post". He was also preceded in death by his father, Ambrose Miller, a sister, Noami Hartsog and a half-sister, Elsie Miller. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Miller; One daughter, Shirlene Widner and husband Allen of West Jefferson; Mother, Ola Greer of West Jefferson; Five sisters, Lillian Miller of West Jefferson, Patsy Ashley and husband Quincy of North Wilkesboro, Sharon Trivett and husband Talmadge of West Jefferson, Mildred Sluder of Todd, and Joann Robinson and husband John of Crumpler; Two grandchildren, Allison Widner and Brandon Widner of West Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
