Mr. Larry Joe Shatley, age 57, of Crumpler, died Tuesday morning, December 16, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Jones and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00pm on Thursday, December 18, 2008 prior to the funeral service. Mr. Shatley was born in Ashe County on May 3, 1951 to the late Aurthur Reeves Shatley and Nellie Lambert Shatley. He was a Master Craftsman. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Ann Shatley and a brother Mark Shatley. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Walsh Shatley; three, sons, Andrew Shatley, Joey Shatley and Christopher Shatley, all of Crumpler; two daughters, Josie Reeves and husband, Matthew, of West Jefferson and Stephanie Shatley of West Jefferson; His mother, Nellie Lambert Shatley of Crumpler; four brothers, Dallas Shatley and wife, Della, Cecil Shatley and wife, Maxine, Thomas Shatley and wife, Karen, Johnny Shatley and wife, Kathy, all of Crumpler; a sister, Joan Faw and husband, Chris, of Crumpler; six grandchildren, Ethan, Daniel, Kennedy, Amaliyah, Dyanna and Jaylen; several nieces and nephews also survive.
