Barbara and family,
We were so shocked and saddended to hear about Richard's passing. He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by the many who knew him. I have only good memories of Richard, and those are the days dad worked with him carrying the mail. I remember dad taking Scotty and myself to school at Lansing and remember that some mornings we did not want to go! Dad would have to take us to the post office with him and call mom, and we would talk to Richard while we were there. I also remember talking to him in the afternoons when Scotty and I would walk down to the post office after school to get a ride home with dad. He was always so nice to us and never seemed irritated that we were there. Mom was just telling us that she had spoken to Richard and Barbara the other day at Walmart and that she had gotten to talk to Richard for a good while. I know mom was so upset to hear that Richard had passed away. I know that this is such a hard time for the family to be going through, but I am just as certain that Richard is in heaven rejoicing today. He is in such a wonderful place right now, and we can definitely take comfort in knowing that we will all be together again very soon, walking those beautiful streets of gold and talking with all of those we have missed for so long. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you and that we are here if you need us. While we know how sad you must be now, take comfort in knowing that God really does care about you and that time really does help to ease the pain. God does not want us to be miserable without our loved ones. Instead, he wants us to celebrate the life they had and look forward to when we will be seeing them again. I know that dad has welcomed his friend home and that he has pulled him aside to "talk his ear off", telling him stories about the good old days and some of his favorite jokes. They have a lot of catching up to do! We love you all and wish all of God's blessings for each of you.

It is with heavy heart but with fond memories that we send our condolences to the family. I'm the middle son of Don and Minnie Belle Francis and was raised just across Helton Creek from the Ed and Stella Roe family. I remember Elizabeth, Richard, and Martha very well. Life on Helton Creek was made special by those folks and others like Miss Alta (my 3rd and 4th grade teacher) and Miss Clara Perkins.
My wife and I live in Anthem, Arizona. We are currently being visited by my first cousin Jerrie Edwards Francis who, along with me, sends her love and wishes that she could be there.

I'm a better person for knowing Richard Roe. I will miss his soft chuckles, his warm ways, his sweet nature, and his love for playing cards on our beach trips. He was the one we all tried to beat!
He touched a lot of lives with his strength, gentleness, generosity and kindness - His walk with God was clearly seen. And he will be missed by many.
Anyone who knew Richard knew Barbara was the love of his life, and that she felt the same about him.
Barbara, Kelly, Jenni, Rick, George and your families - I know you will miss him very much, and I am truly sorry for your loss.
May everything you shared with him - the love you had for each other, and the warmth and caring between you - help bring you through your sadness to a place of comfort and peace. May God give you His strength you in the days ahead.
You are in my prayers - Love to you all.

Barbara, Jennie, Kelly, George and Rick, also Stella and Doug. I am shocked to hear of Richards passing. I never dreamed after seeing Richard and Jennie at Brenda's funeral that night that we would be losing him so soon. I remember thinking when I saw him, that he never aged. He looked the same as he did nearly 26 years ago when he hired me as his clerk at the Lansing Post Office. Richard was always easy to work for and those days at Lansing were the best of my Postal Career. He always made me feel at ease.He often bragged on his family and Barbara it was always a pleasure to see you as well and Jennie you always seemed like family. I remember the days when you would come home with Angie from school. We all think the world of you.Stella and Doug and extended family I know he must have been a special uncle and a special brother to Martha.Hold on to all those memories, that no one can take away and rest knowing he is in God's care. You will be remembered in my Thoughts and Prayer's.

Barbara and family, I as so saddened to hear of your loss. It was such a shock to me. Richard was such a kind and gentle person. He always looked the same as long as I've known him. As many times as I have registered him, I don't think I really ever noticed his actual age. He always had kind words to say and always seemed so patient. I know your loss hurts so much, but it eases our minds to know that he is so much better off than we are. I can can just see him there talking to my Daddy by that beautiful River of Life. I know you will miss him so much. There will be that void and no one can fill his place, but just lean totally on God. He will get you through and make each day a little easier. He will never leave your side, so you will never be alone. It won't be long until we'll all meet him and all of our loved ones who've been so fortunate to have gone on before. You are in my thoughts and prayers. My heart goes out to you. Barbara, I know your loss was so sudden, but God knew it was time that he came home. His body needed to rest, so he took him and left his spirit with you, so you'll never be alone. God promises us a land where there is no more pain, anguish, or tears, a land of joy and peace where we'll enjoy for years and years. Imagine an eternity where we'll all be together forever more, singing and praising God on Heaven's Beautiful, beautiful shore. Enjoy all your memories that you have made. Think of something different each day. Never let them fade. It will keep him close at heart and know that "in your heart"....you will never, never part. I love you so much! I pray that he will give you abundant strength to help your family through all the hurdles and ease your pain and sorrow as we all should live our lives as if....there were...no tomorrow. May he bless you deeply. Love, Sue
