Mrs. Lorraine Stansberry Ham, age 81, of Lansing, died Monday morning, May 28, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 3:00pm at Lansing Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ken Morris and Rev. Dwight Barker officiating. Burial will follow in the Stansberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 2:00-3:00pm at Lansing Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Ham was born in Ashe County on Saturday, December 20, 1930 to the late Edgar Ray and Edith Elizabeth Greer Stansberry. She was a member of Lansing Presbyterian Church and organized Christmas gifts, food and clothing projects, as she directed this program for nearly 40 years. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Wade" Ham; a brother, Dewitt Stansberry, and a sister, LenaMae Roland. She is survived by two sons; Robert Ham of Lansing, and Roger Ham and wife Louise of Lansing; three daughters; Rebecca Chrisawn and husband Darrell of West Jefferson, Patricia Childress and husband James of Jefferson, and Leisa Powell and husband Todd of West Jefferson; one sister Polly Johnson of Honolulu, Hawaii; ten grandchildren; Andrea Morgan, Travis Chrisawn, Allison Shoemake, Ethan Chrisawn, Robert Ham, Jr., Stacey Howell, Matt Ham, Heather C. Campbell, Sydney Powell, and Griffin Powell; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family requests no food please!
