Mrs. Ruby Carol Waddell, age 62, of Crumpler passed away Friday evening, December 19, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning, December 23, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, December 22, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Waddell was born in Washington County, Virginia on Saturday, March 9, 1946 to the late Lester John Hamm and Ella Ruth Carpenter Hamm. She worked as a sewing machine operator. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Waddell. She is survived by, a son, James Waddell of Konnarock, VA; two daughters, Sandy Busby of Crumpler and Mary Sue Shaw of Lansing; two brothers, Bill Hamm of Sylva and Lynn Hamm of Volney, VA; three sisters, Francis Blevins of Whitetop, VA, Mary Wallace of Lansing and Irma Blevins of Barto, PA; nine grandchildren, a great-grandchild & several nieces and nephews also survive.
