Mrs. Ella Mae Hodgson Roten, age 77, of Laurens, South Carolina passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 4:00pm at Mt. Paddy Church with Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the Kemp-Lewis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Roten was born in Creston, NC on Monday, July 16, 1934 to the late McKinley and Myrtle Sheets Hodgson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Raleigh Roten. She is survived by: a son, Walter Roten and wife, Karen, of Laurens, SC; two daughters, Ruby Jean McBride of Simpsonville and Mary Elizabeth Mickleboro and husband, Glen, of Roswell, GA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
