Mr. Robert Bill Hamm, age 75, of Creston, passed away Saturday morning, May 9, 2012 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2012 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Graybeal officiating. Burial will follow in Calhoun Cemetery in Big Springs. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 til 3:00 prior to the service at Boone Family. Mr. Hamm was born in Ashe County on March 27, 1937 to the late Elzie Ham and Dorothy Paris Calhoun. He was a member of Iron Heritage Tractor Club Member and won two trophies. He loved to go to car auctions and raising pigeons. He is survived by his wife; Marietta Hamm of 55 years; one son; Bobby Hamm of Creston; one daughter; Shirley Miller of Lansing; a grandmother; Lottie Calhoun of Jefferson; Step-mother; Hazel Ham of Elkton, Maryland; two brothers; Herbert Lewis of Lansing, and EJ Ham of South Carolina; four sisters; Brenda Miller of Warrensville, Betty Dougherty of Creston, Emma Jean Ham of Lansing, and Geraldine McNeill of Lansing; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
