Effie, Terry, Gary and Steve, I don't even know where to begin. So many wonderful times on Soup Bean Branch while I was growing up and even when Tony and I were dating. Pate always like to crack jokes and make us laugh. All the many times sitting at your kitchen table immediately after Effie and Pate got home from work, I couldn't wait to get there. Sharing his hunting stories with Tony was always a fun time. He will be missed beyond measure but his reward is so great. RIP Pate, we will see you again.

To the Gambill Family,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this time of loss and grief. I remember with appreciation the
consistent and calm presence of Pate during my times of encountering him at Northwest Ashe basketball seasons and also experiences with him at Big Laurel Mennonite Church.
May you know God's comfort and strength.
