Mr. Terry Lee Jones age, 48 of West Jefferson passed away Thursday morning, June 28, 2012 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 4:00pm at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Hart and Rev. David Grinnell officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, two hours prior to the funeral service. He was born in Ashe County on July 3, 1963. After graduating from high school, Terry married his high school sweetheart Tammy and they had one daughter, Kayla. He was a loving husband, father and son. Terry was an active member at Friendship Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. As a devoted Christian he loved the Lord, his family and his church family. He was a caring and compassionate man with a heart of gold. His friends loved and respected him. Terry worked in construction and enjoyed his job as a heavy machine operator. He liked to eat out, watch movies, fish and spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Richardson Jones, of 29 years of marriage; a daughter, Kayla Jones, of West Jefferson; his parents, Delmer & Stella Jones, of Warrensville; a brother, Jerry Jones, of West Jefferson; three nephews; four nieces and a great-nephew also survive.
