Mr. Robert Homer Williams, age 84, of West Jefferson, passed away Friday evening, July 13, 2012 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shepherd and Rev. David Lyalls officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry Family Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Williams was born in Alleghany County on Thursday, September 22, 1927 to the late Wilson Williams and Ruby Crouse. He served in the United States Army. He enjoyed working at the flea market until his health no longer allowed it. He always liked to stop at yard sales and go to auctions. In earlier years he enjoyed going fishing and teaching his grandsons to fish. He also enjoyed working with woodcrafts and camping. He is preceded in death by his wife; Dorothy Williams; a sister; Lillie Mae Norfleet; and a brother; Howard Williams. He is survived by one son; Wayne Williams and wife Rosa of West Jefferson; one daughter; Sharon Salkind and husband David of Easton, Maine; one sister; Hazel Roebuck of Maryland; four grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
