Mrs. Virginia Blackburn McGuire, age 95, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday evening July 22, 2012 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell cemetery at Todd. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10-11am one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. McGuire was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, August 1, 1916 to the late George Washington Blackburn and Ella Dale Graybeal. She was a Homemaker. Mrs. McGuire is preceded in death by her husband; John Hagaman. She is survived by one son; Patrick McGuire of Tuckahoe, New York; one daughter; Kathy McGuire of West Jefferson; two grandsons; Todd McGuire and Corey McGuire of New York.
