Winfred Felix Barr, age 85, of West Jefferson, died Monday July 31, 2012 at Wake Forest Medical Baptist Center. A private family service will be held. Mr. Barr was born in Ashe County on September 10, 1926 to the late Basil Duke Barr and Mabel Phillips. Mr. Barr is survived by his wife, Mary A Barr; two daughters; Debra Darland of Delta Junction, Alaska and Cheryl Filla of La Porte Minnesota; one brother; Basil Duke Barr, Jr. of Elizabethton, TN; one sister; Nena Barr Shepard of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. No flowers please!!
