Dear Ruth and family, we are so sadden to hear of Harold passing. Harold and Ruth were so kind to us the year we lived in their rental house. We will never forget Harold's kind smile and words he always had when we would see him. May God provide comfort to you during this time. However, may you have peace in knowing that now Harold is no longer suffering from the illnesses that had been with him for some time.

Dad .... I was so lucky to have you in my life for so many wonderful years! You were my strength and my guiding light through life. I have certainly lost my best friend and I don't know what I will do without you .... Ashe County has lost an Icon and the Mountains will never be quite the same again. I know you were prepared to go to Heaven by our conversations and you must be sitting at Christs table right now with your sweet Momma, Daddy, and Brother. One day ....the good Lord willing ....I will be able to see you again and join you there .... I will always remember our good family times together, joys, and laughter. I will miss you so much Dad and we will take good care of Mom until we are all re-united again ! You were so loved by all the family Dad, and it was such a pleasure to be with you, have conversations, and help care for you those last two weeks in the hospital. Margie considered herself your daughter Dad, and she will miss you as much as I do. Dad I know you are up in Heaven riding that big Walking Horse you owned so many years ago. Until we meet again Dad ..... I will love you and you will be with me until I utter my last breath here on this earth! So mode it be !

TO THE KLUTTZ FAMILY--Our deepest sympathy and condolences on the passing of a Great Man--He will be remembered for his Love and Kindness in all that he did for others.. His greatest legacy is the Love he shared with all of his family and the Love of all who knew him--- God Bless You All--
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
Death is Nothing At All
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect. Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well....

Crossing the Bar
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea.
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
To full for sound and foam
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turn again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark.
For though from out the bourne of Time and Place.
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.

Dad, thank you for receiving me into your family (you and Mom both) as a daughter, not an in law. I thank God for blessing my life with a loving second set of parents. Little could I have known, that both my Daddy and you, Dad; would be called home to live with our Lord less than 4 months apart.
As we talked in the hospital, I was privileged to be with you on this part of your journey as well; to sit with you and hold your hand; or rub your head – or just receive your nod, or slight smile.
You have touched so many lives; and left us with many, many cherished memories. My mind has constantly been replaying these; my heart aches at missing you; do not worry if you see me cry - my tears are my way of calming my heart and soul. Remembering when Hannah (2-1/2 yr. old) great granddaughter, asked in your hospital room “is grandpa going to see Jesus, Erica and all of us could gently, confidently say Yes to her.
I thank God you are no longer suffering; I thank God for allowing me to have been a part of your life and family.
I chuckle knowing He has His hands full with 2- career salesmen you and my Daddy! I thank God, he has replayed His words over and over in my thoughts of “Peace be Still, and know that I am God.
I will always love you, and miss you…God be with you always.
Lovingly your daughter,
Margie
P.S. The answer is still “No, I don’t to your statement ‘You have it all together’

How do you replace that truly one of a kind, upbeat, and always positive attitude? Even during "correctiive actions" his compassion and desire was to enable others around to make the right choices and do the right thing. One final question; How can anyone replace that room filing warmth and brightness, of his smile and greeting, every time you saw him after being apart? The answer to both questions; Irreplaceable. We can keep his memory by telling the stories and following his lead. Mrs. Kluttz, Hal, Craig, and Glen, and the rest of the family you have deedest sympathy. You are in our thoughts a d prayers. Please call if you need anything.

Hal,
I’ve been away for just over a week or so and just got in today and noticed the announcement of your father’s passing.
Hal, you have my deepest sympathies to you and your family. I remember the times of us going hunting in Ashe County and your father and mother inviting us into their homes. Perfect strangers to them and they made me feel very welcome. Speaks volumes of their kindness and caliber of person.
I may not have known your father other than the couple of visits up to his home, and I don’t have to convince you that he was a good man but both your mother and father left a great impression on me. I guess that’s why I have a huge respect for you, and it proves the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Hal, if there is anything I can do for you and your family, I’m only a phone call away.
If you’re in Gastonia please don’t be a stranger, call me and I would like to take you to lunch and catch up on how you and everyone is doing.
Sincerely,
David Dover

Mr. Kluttz,
So many, if not most, of my childhood memories revolve around the Kluttz family. I dont remember how many years we were next door neighbors but it seemed like forever. I remember admiring the friendship you and Mrs, Kluttz shared with mom and dad and it was a very special and lasting friendship. They sure did miss you when you moved away. I came across a few great pictures of you at my wedding and mom and dad were so excited to see you. You raised a wonderful family and it as been an honor getting back in touch with Hal and learning all about you and your wonderful family. I know you can rest in peaceful bliss now with Jesus and all those you are reunited with. I know mom and dad are glad to see you again. With Fond memories, Carol Morris Sammarco.

Mrs. Kluttz,
I wanted to light another candle just for you.
My memories of your family and ours are so vivid. They cross my mind often and I tell them to my kids as if it were yesterday. You came to our rescue so many times. I remember the time I ran over a bees nest in the ground the 1st and only time I cut the grass and mom called you to come over and help her take care of all the stings and get the stingers out. There was the time I had been playing in my room and left a lamp on on my bed and it caught on fire. Then there were the times when mom went into shock due to her low blood sugar and you would rush over with a coke to save the day. I remember when I climbed a tree after school and couldn't get down. No one was home and I was scared and crying. When Mr. Kluttz got home he found me and helped me down. And who can forget that tree house. Remember when dad was showing off going up and down the ladder and fell. He broke a few ribs. That was some tree house. I can picture you and Mr. Kluttz now coming through the back porch door to just sit and visit and hang out with mom and dad. Your house was my 2nd home and you and Mr Kluttz embraced Richard and I as your own. I thank you for that. I know your heart is broken and I am deeply sorry for the pain you have to endure. I am also sorry I could not make it to the service. That day was my daughters first day of college at CPCC and her dad was out of town. Take care of yourself. Lots of love and prayers, Carol Morris Sammarco

To Hal & Family
Although I never had the privilage of meeting Mr. Klutz, from what I have learned and read about him I know he had to be a very special Husband, Father & Grandfather. In many ways he reminds me of my own Father who we lost in 2009. The love of God, Family and Country stand out the most. The outdoors, being married, service in WW II, and working for the same company for for so many years are a few of the traits they shared. These are traits too often lost in the generations of today.
I only know one member of the family (Hal) but I know it takes special parents to raise and mold a Son with the character amd respect Hal has earned.
I have found acceptence of my Dad's passing in reminding myself that his health prevented him from having the quality of life he loved so much, and that he is in a better place where there is no more pain.
We will keep your family in our thoughts & prayers.
