Mr. Jonas Miller, age 85, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday morning, August 8, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Brother Ralph Smith and Brother Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Severt Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2012 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Miller was born in Ashe County on Saturday, July 2, 1927 to the late Att and Ada Lambert Miller. Jonas was always full of life; he enjoyed being around people. One of his favorite past times was hanging out at McDonald's at the liar's table. In his earlier years, he enjoyed dancing and listening to music. He is preceded in death by a son-in-law; Hurshel Lambert; six brothers; Milt Miller, Kelce Miller, Leonard Miller, Rudd Miller, Venter Miller, and Curtis Miller. He is survived by his wife, Emma Marie Miller; one son, Lloyd Miller and wife Dony of West Jefferson; three daughters; Betty Lambert of West Jefferson, Pauline Patrick and husband Larry of North Wilkesboro, and Becky Whybrew and husband Greg of Pfafftown; three brothers; Ira Miller of West Jefferson, Gomer Miller of Marion, and JC Miller of Marion; four sisters; Geneva Morgan of Westminister, MD, Lillie Mae Phillips of Winston Salem, Myrtle Little of Jefferson, and Deettie Royal of Jefferson; Aunt; Jonice Miller of Crumpler; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
