Mrs. Vivian Wyatt Goodman, age 83, of Jefferson, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 2-3pm one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Goodman was born in Ashe County on November 11, 1928 to the late Ernest McKinley Wyatt and Neine Hardin. She was a member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Goodman was valedictorian of her graduating class in 1947 at West Jefferson High School. She is preceded in death by her husband; Joseph Calvin Goodman; a brother; Harold Ray Wyatt; and a two year old granddaughter; Brandy Byland. She is survived by two sons; Donnie Goodman and wife Barbara of Knightdale, NC and Alan Goodman and wife Daphne of West Jefferson; three daughters; Joyce Blevins and Fianc Keith Caraway of West Jefferson, Brenda Garland and husband Jerry of West Jefferson, and Linda Harless and husband Donald of West Jefferson; one brother; Roger Wyatt and wife Julie of West Jefferson; sister-in-law; Toy Wyatt of West Jefferson; fourteen grandchildren; Kasey Jones, Krystal Southard, Kody Blevins, Seth Byland, Shanda Richards, Amanda Summer, Donna Bare, Cole Harless, Dillon Harless, Joe Goodman, Alycia Richardson, Austin Goodman, Amy Cardwell, Donnie Cardwell; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
