Mrs. Grace Ailene Phillips Sluder, age 92, of Todd, passed away Thursday morning, September 27, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Williams and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham-Greer Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 12:30-2:00pm on Saturday, prior to the funeral service at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Sluder was born in Mount Hope, West Virginia on Tuesday, June 29, 1920 to the late George Phillips and Rosie Phillips. She was a Homemaker and also loved cooking and always kept a clean house. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Astor Henry Sluder on July 10, 1999; three sons; Jessie Allen, Robert Johnson (RJ) Sluder, and Council Sluder; two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three sons; Charles Allen and wife Iris of Morganton, Dewey Allen of California, and C.W. Sluder and wife Mary of Fleetwood; one daughter; Edith Allen Johnson of Morganton; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; twenty-three great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
