Jim was a mighty good man in many ways. his intelligence about anything you wanted to talk about gave away that he knew a little about everything, and alot about some things. I remember one year when he was doing our taxes, he welcomed us in his office by referring to us as his old drinking buddies, referring to the prior year's taxes being unfavorable on our part. Then one day I encountered Jim out working on the Highway at a busy intersection, I was driving a school bus at the time, and he and I exchanged some small talk while I was at a red light, later after the light turned green and I proceeded to go, one of the student's on my bus asked me if I knew that man, and I said yes. Very well.
Everyone who knew Jim called it honor to know him. He will be greatly missed.

My fondest memory would be of Big Jim taking us (me & Bonnie) to lunch when we worked together. We could usually squeeze one day a week out of him. I always enjoyed hearing his stories; he was so funny and full of life. I love you all and you are in my family’s thoughts and prayers. If you need anything you know I am here.

What I remember most about Jim is his hearty laugh. Very vivid is the memory of him holding a shotgun in the carriage while smiling and laughing as Rebecca and Paul were given a ride on their wedding night.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Each of you will be in my prayers.
Although time and years separated us, I look back with fond memories to our days in high school and to Jim's gift to me when I graduated from college. He loaned me his 1957 Chevrolet convertible for the period from the end of exams and graduation. Wow, what a time was had.
The circle of friends from high school has again been diminished, but the memories will never die.
May God bless and keep each of you.

A Prince of a fellow...good humored, affable, and my First Sergeant. He cried with me when he did my taxes, and still wanted his check for services rendered. He served his state and nation and was a model for all.
