Mrs. Doris Miller Lambert, age 82, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 23, 2012 at Carolina Medical Center Northeast in Concord. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Casey, Rev. David Lyalls and Speaker Justin McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Lambert was born in Ashe County on February 9, 1930 to the late Minter Memphis Miller and Dillie C. Roop. She was known for her good cooking and famous gravy and biscuit. She loved being outside working in flowers and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Mt. Jefferson Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Bobby Farmer and wife Rita of Warrensville; three daughters; Linda Sexton and husband Ed of Jefferson, Kathy Deal and companion Steve Freeze of Kannapolis, and Carol McNeill and husband Billy of West Jefferson; one brother; Earnest Miller of Lansing; two sisters; Ola Vaughan of Eastland, Michigan, and Stella Bennett of Lima Ohio; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
