Mrs. Wilma Jean Woods, age 61, of Lansing passed away Sunday morning, November 4, 2012 at her mother's home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shepherd, Rev. Gene Shepherd and Rev. Bud Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyatt Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Woods was born in Ashe County on Sunday, December 24, 1950 to the late Eugene "Gee" Woods and Thelma Wyatt Woods. She worked at Sara Lee Knit Products until the closing of the plant. She was a member of Harvest Time Ministries in North Wilkesboro. Wilma had a love for life. She enjoyed being outdoors, deer hunting and fishing. She enjoyed being with people especially the young children. She never met a stranger. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all. She is survived by a son, Gregory Lee Richardson, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Cindy Richardson Shatley and husband, Kevin, of Jefferson; her mother, Thelma Woods, of Lansing; three sisters, Bonnie Woods, of Lansing, Nancy Miller and husband, Lloyd, of Fleetwood and Robin Brown and husband, Jerry, of West Jefferson; two grandchildren, Chance Shatley and Alexa Shatley; several nieces and nephews also survive.
