Mr. Benjamin Davis Bingham, better known as "Benny", age 70 of West Jefferson died Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Morris and Brother Earl Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with masonic rites. The Bingham family will receive friends Thursday from 12-2pm, two hours prior to the funeral services. Mr. Bingham was born in Watauga County on Saturday, February 14, 1942 to the late William Paul Bingham and Edith Mast Bingham. He was a graduate of Lees-McRae College. He served in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of the Ashe Masonic Lodge #594. He was known for his work on repairing clocks, and jewelry. Mr. Bingham is survived by; two daughters; Christina Phillips and husband David of Laurel Springs, and Jane McNeill and husband Jon of Fleetwood; one sister; Barbara Roland of West Jefferson; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three nieces; Sherrie Hodges and husband Dayne, Shannon Pham and husband Andy, and Shawn Frank and husband Scott.
