Mr. Ward Marshall Miller, age 74, of West Jefferson passed away Monday morning, November 12, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 2pm at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny Thomas and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Mr. Miller was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, January 4, 1938 to the late Joe and Cordie Bowlin Miller. He started making cabinets in 1968 and did all the wood work in his church, Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing in church. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Miller, Gilbert Miller and Sebert Miller. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife , of 54 years of marriage, Dare Sheets Miller; two brothers, Delmar Miller, of Glendale Springs and Wade Miller, of Millers Creek; three sisters, Faye Dixon , of China Grove, NC, Evazell Crews, of Todd and Shirley Jones, of Glendale Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.
